The best factual show for children – the iconic HOW returned to ITV in November 2020and goes from strength to strength.

Vick Hope, Sam Homewood and Frankie Vu present the new series which brings a fresh new look to a show that first began more than 50 years ago. And TV legend Fred Dinenage MBE (who appeared in both the original version and the 1990s reboot HOW 2) also makes an appearance, as the “Head of HOW”.

The new HOW is a bright re-visualisation of one of television’s best-loved children’s programmes re-invented for the digital generation. Part funded by the BFI’s Young Audience Content Fund (YACF), it’s aimed at children in the 6-10 year-old age group, and designed to appeal to a generation who are used to researching information on the internet themselves. In the studio there is a presenters’ “hub”, but much of the show takes place outside where the team come up with the most astonishing, entertaining and informative hacks and facts.

HOW won the Best Factual Entertainment category in the Royal Television Society Southern Awards 2021
